Subject: Social Studies – Civics
Grades: High School
Course Length: 16 weeks / 1 semester
Meets: 1x week
Fall 2026 – 10am-11am every Friday from Sept. 4th, 2026 to Dec. 18th, 2026.
Spring 2027 – 10am-11am every Friday from Jan 8th, 2027 to May 14th, 2027.

How did ours come to be?
Where is it going?
These are some of the questions students will try to answer in Civics. During this 1-semester course, students will gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become active citizens. Using the Case Method curriculum developed by Harvard Business professor David Moss, students will practice active critical thinking and group discussion. They will develop an understanding both of the United States and worldwide governments. Students will also engage with their community and local government to learn directly about how civics affects their lives.
