Grades: 11-12 (ages 16-18)

Course Length: 16 weeks / 1 semester at a time; up to 4 semesters total

Meets: 2x week for 1 hour, plus asynchronous work (mainly reading)

Why do people do what they do?

What do I think ‘integrity’ means? How have people struggled with that question since the beginning of time?

In the 11th-12th grade language arts cohort, students will learn to analyze and express ideas. They will creatively engage with relevant guiding questions such as those above. Long texts in year one will include: Antigone, Frankenstein (prose and graphic versions), Macbeth, and at least one student-chosen free-reading books. Shorter readings will be provided online. Note: the curriculum will repeat every two years, so that students who enter in 11th grade will not repeat any information in 12th.
